Italian sports car manufacturer Pagani has just announced the new Huayra Dinastia special edition. The release will be limited to three cars and was created to celebrate the establishment of Pagani China Automotive Limited (PCAL), which will now operate in China and Macau.
When Westerners think China they think of dragons, so the mythical creature will be the theme of this special collection. Pagani chose this particular number because “three” pronounced in Chinese sounds like the character sheng, which “is the meaning of life, new birth” – quite an appropriate choice to mark such an occasion.
Company founder Horacio Pagani himself chose the three colors – blue, gold, red- for the vehicles which make up the series. The Huayras come with carbon fiber bodies and have been previewed in a set of renders, as well as highly detailed scale models which display dragon elements both on the outside and on the inside.
With regards to the motorization, the Dinastia special doesn’t bring anything new to the standard Huayra setup. The vehicle is powered by an AMG twin-turbo V12 6.0-liter engine outputting 700 bhp (522 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) and weighing in at 2,975 lbs (1,250 kg). The lightning-fast sports car can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h).
