Swiss high-end watchmaker Oris, famous for only producing mechanical watches, has launched the world’s first automatic mechanical watch which also features an altimeter.
As its name suggest, the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter is aimed at pilots, but also any other kind of adventurer who likes to look at the world from above. The watch comes with a 47mm stainless steel crown, which houses a utilitarian dial with a yellow indicator on an outer scale which displays the altitude. Another “recessed” scale is used to show the barometric pressure via the red indicator.
The timepiece is available with a leather, textile, or metal strap. There’s also the option of choosing an altitude scale in meters or in feet.
