Lamborghini and the Swiss luxury watchmaker Blancpain teamed up to create a limited edition of the Gallardo LP570-4 which pays homage to the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo racing cars. That’s right, the Swiss watchmaker is the title sponsor of the one-make racing series.
The exterior features a black paintwork, carbon fiber styling components, a big rear wing and new Skorpius alloy wheels which give this supercar a more refined look. This Gallardo also received a unique engine cover which offers better ventilation, high performance brakes with discs made from carbon ceramic composite. The racing atmosphere is also continued in the interior with black Alcantara leather mixed with yellow accents and carbon fiber elements.
The Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Blancpain is powered by a 5.2L V10 engine with 570 horsepower that’s also found on the production model Gallardo Superleggera. The power from this engine is sent to all four wheels of the car, hence the name LP570-4.
Lamborghini announced that this limited edition weights only 1,340 kg which makes it the lightest road going model in the company’s range, sharing this title with the Superleggera. With a power to weight ratio of 2.35 kg per hp, the Blancpain can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and it could reach a top speed of 320 km/h.
The Italian supercar maker hasn’t announced yet the exact pricing and availability of this limited edition Gallardo yet.
