For those who think diamonds aren’t eye-catching enough, Jacob & Co. has created the magnificent Caviar Emerald Tourbillon.
The timepiece boasts a staggering 424 emeralds and took two years to manufacture – which is quite a lot even for an ultra-high-end watch like this one. This is in part due to the fact that finding the perfect stones wasn’t easy, as hundreds of tiny emeralds had to be matched not only by color but also by size. The result, however, is truly amazing, and well-worth the time invested.
The 18-carat white gold case is 47mm wide and features 232 emeralds, while the crown is adorned with another 17 gems. No fewer than 140 baguette-cut emeralds are used for the dial, while strap is fashioned from green alligator leather, with an 18-carat white gold buckle and 36 emeralds, which complements the vibrant green piece beautifully.
At the heart of the Caviar Emerald Tourbillon watch is the exclusive to Jacob & Co. caliber JCBM05 manually wound mechanical movement with the time and flying tourbillion. The tourbillon is visible through a window at six o’clock on the dial and operates at 21,600 bph with a power reserve of about 100 hours.
Even more impressive than the Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette (another watch by Jacob & Co. we’ve recently presented), the Caviar Emerald Tourbillon is an incredibly beautiful one-off masterpiece – and it is valued accordingly, at a staggering CHF2.4 million (which is currently about $2.39 million).
