The guys from Jet Surf have recently presented a brand new entertainment machine – an engine powered surfboard, which eliminates the need to wait for a sufficiently tall wave. In the course of development and research of this nice piece, they have tried a whopping 10 prototypes in total, over 7 years.
The engine powered surfboard will reportedly be presented at the 2012 World Series. It will be offered in three models and will require no license to be ridden. They are powered by an automatic start engine unit, and an automatic control unit for the continuity of the wave ride.
The three types, the Factory GP 100, Ultra Sport and Rookie, can all reach a maximum speed of over 30 mph (48 km/h). The guys at Jet Surf also said that there is absolutely no engine available worldwide to deliver such performance at these engines’ power to weight ratio. It weighs just 30 lbs and includes a 3-liter gasoline.
Available worldwide, it is provided with a bag, a stand, all the necessary parts and personal training on-site, assisted by a trainer from Jet Surf. If you can’t afford the Factory GP 100, which is priced at a whopping $19,500, you can opt for the Ultra Sport, for a lesser $16,500.
