Arctic Sun is a Magnificent ‘Green’ 90-Meter Superyacht Concept

Swedish designer Dennis Ingemansson has come up with an amazing 90-meter superyacht called the Arctic Sun.

This fully-equipped, multi-purpose explorer vessel was developed in collaboration with UK-based shipyard Pendennis and Rolls Royce naval engineering, and is probably the most environmentally sustainable yacht we’ve ever seen. In addition to the extensive solar cell area on the roof, there’s also room to install a series of wind-turbines, if the future owner so desires.

Arctic Sun also has plenty of room for other kinds of vehicles. There’s an EC155 standard helicopter garage, as well as the option to build a landing platform, and ample room for a full range of diving equipment in the aft. Also part of the ship a drive-in docking system designed for a limousine tender, which can also be used as a platform for submarines.

Of course, like any superyacht of this caliber Arctic Sun also boasts such facilities as a large swimming pool, sauna, cinema, and a poker room.

While this magnificent ship is still in the concept phase, the involvement of such names as Pendennis as Rolls Royce in the project is pretty encouraging. We might actually be seeing Arctic Sun in production sooner rather than later.
