The BMW Radical Concept Is a Retro-Futuristic Wonder

BMW Radical Concept

Imagined by the brilliant Istanbul-based industrial designer Mehmet Doruk Erden, the two wheel marvel you’re about to see right now is absolutely incredible, to say the least. Teasing us, as well as future generations, this BMW Radical Concept stands true to its name, showing off a ravishing look that could easily take your breath away, and blending the best of both worlds, past and future, in the most beautiful way possible.

We call this bike retro-futuristic for good reason, as its smooth look might remind some of you of Tron Legacy, while the bike’s hub-center steering system takes us back all the way to 1910. I can’t help but feel worried about those reverse bar end levers, but I still love every inch of this concept.

Of course, the BMW Radical Concept is just a design study right now, so we don’t know anything about what could actually power this stylish thing. I am inclined to believe such a futuristic-looking bike would come with an electric motor to get it from point A to point B, if it ever goes into production, but the roaring sound of a petrol engine might go even better with its striking design.

The bobber-style-saddle and use of HCS allows and cafe grand prix clip-ons, reveal once again the designer’s appreciation of ideas and lines from the past, as well as his consideration for modern aerodynamics. This project is wearing BMW badges right now, although it could have easily featured another logo. We’re a bit confused on that one, but we hope someone wealthy enough could turn this concept into reality in the near future!
