The hydro mechanical horologists over at HYT have created a unique timepiece in which mechanics and fluids combine to great effect. Inspired by the legendary Count Dracula, one of literature’s most famous villains, the wristwatch comes in an eye-catching red and black color scheme perfectly illustrating its Gothic theme.
The48.8mm case, in titanium black DLC with brushed, shot-peened and satin-finished surfaces, has a red rubber-clad screw-lock crown and a crown guard, an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back, and it is water resistant to 100 meters. The movement is a Swiss hand-wound HYT in-house caliber 101 with 35 jewels, beating at 28,800 vph, and with a power reserve of 65 hours. The bridges are hand-chamfered, with rhodiumed bellows and adorned with Côtes de Genève decoration.
With its unstructured red fluid on the dial and the red veins of its black alligator strap, this is not a conventional timepiece and certainly not one for the faint of heart. It is however, a watch that will set you apart from everybody else, especially since it’s very unlikely you’ll ever meet somebody who also has one, seeing as how only 50 pieces have been released.
The HYT H1 Dracula DLC is priced at about $64,000.
