The Vertical Limit Champagne Cellar is one of the most interesting items listed for sale at Sotheby’s Finest and Rarest Wines, Spirits, and Vintage Ports auction which took place in London on October 21st.
One of only 15, this so-called ‘cellar’ is actually an awesome, freestanding champagne stand that was designed by the talented team at Porsche Design Studio together with Veuve Clicquot. Looking like a gorgeous addition to any room, the brushed-steel storage tower acts as a refrigerator as well, housing twelve magnum-sized bottles inside.
And locked inside this champagne cellar’s contents are actually some of the finest vintages from Veuve Clicquot ever produced, like the magnum Champagne flights from 1955, 1959, 1961, 1962, 1975, 1982, 1985, 1988 and 1990.
What’s even more impressive about this neat champagne stand is that each of the cellar’s compartments are illuminated in the label’s distinctive, Pantone 137c version of yellow, which makes for a beautiful view at night. The Vertical Limit Champagne Cellar is expected to fetch up to about $154,000.
