Krispy Kreme has just created the world’s most expensive donut, made with highly exclusive ingredients like Dom Pérignon vintage 2002 champagne jelly and featuring gold dusted Belgian chocolate flower and edible diamonds.

The donut took three days to assemble an also includes a raspberry and Chateau d’Yquem crème, passion fruit glazing and edible 24-carat gold leaves. It sits on top of an extravagant Krispy Kreme Cocktail, made from raspberry and passion fruit syrup, 500-year-old Courvoisier de L’Esprit Cognac and topped with 2002 Dom Pérignon champagne.

The donut, worth a staggering £1,000, was unveiled at high-end department store Selfridges in London, and just to make it even sweeter, it was created with a good cause in mind. This exclusive confection was made as part of a fundraising effort benefitting the UK Children’s Trust charity, an organization which supports children with brain injuries.
