Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik

The ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’ as it was named, the city of Dubrovnik shines as one of the most renowned tourist destinations in the world. The city was born in the 7th century as a seaport and despite constant threats from the larger empires around, Dubrovnik flourished during the Middle Ages and became well known for its art, education, science and literature.

Nowadays one of Europe’s most gorgeous medieval cities with fabulous limestone streets, amazing architecture and brilliant beaches, Dubrovnik beautifully contrasts the azure of the sky with its red and orange rooftops, offering stunning sights wherever you look. The Old Town with its ancient walls, cobblestone streets, majestic palaces and churches offers a romantic ambiance that looks even more incredible at night, when everything is beautifully illuminated.

Add in sunbathing, swimming and water sports on some of the most popular beaches just outside the historic district and your vacation will be complete. Oh, and did you see the Game of Thrones? No matter why you’re here, Dubrovnik has a little of something for everyone.

First Impression

Located right in the heart of the city and offering mesmerizing sights of both the Adriatic Sea and the Old Town, the superb Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel is the perfect place to be when you’re visiting this stunning Croatian city. It’s a charming 5-star hotel, set in a historic building which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, meters away from Dubrovnik’s Old Town famous entrance, the Pile Gate, and within walking distance from the lovely Banje Beach.

The hotel’s location is simply perfect and its building stands out with 19th century allure outside the medieval walls of the old city. The Hilton hotel from Dubrovnik offers 147 rooms, a gorgeous restaurant terrace in the lush front garden, an indoor pool and spa plus many other facilities for various events or business meetings.

While its monumental exterior and extravagant lobby talk about grand historic days, once inside, everything transforms into a tranquil space with a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.

Just as we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist working that day, welcomed us friendly and informed us that we’ve been upgraded to an Executive Room with a lovely view towards the sea. A few moments later, the manager, Mia, appeared and welcomed us as well.

We had only exchanged a few emails before coming here and she offered to escort us and show us the room. She wanted to make sure everything was alright and that all our needs would be met.

Accommodation

Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik guest room

A room at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik doesn’t differ too much from any other room in a Hilton hotel. The nice king sized bed, their comfy pillows and the standard bathroom – with bathrobe, toiletries and all the amenities you’d expect from them – were nothing different than any other Hilton hotel we’ve tried so far.

Decorated in warm tones, with autumnal yellows and reds, amber walls and grey green carpets, the spacious rooms are comfortable and offer all the amenities one might need to rest or catch up with some work. The standard rooms offer garden views, while the executive and deluxe ones overlook the picturesque old city walls and the sea, with the best views being offered by the ones with balconies.

Their rooms are bright and spacious, decorated with Mediterranean traditional motifs and furnished with lovely wooden furniture. While there, you get high speed WiFi, air conditioning and evening room service included.

When your day is done, make sure to get into your fluffy bathrobe and relax in their marble bathroom. And don’t forget to spend your mornings soaking in the sea views from their large windows. You won’t regret it.

The Gorgeous Spa

While their Health Club facilities are limited, the small gorgeous spa with indoor pool and domed glass roof, steam room, treatment rooms, sauna and modern gym will be more than enough. In the garden you’ll find a little wooden deck with sunbeds for some more relaxation after full days of walking or important meetings.

Their Health Club will offer you all the body treatments, massages and therapies you might need to refresh and relax. Their dedicated and skilled team, with over 20 years of experience will be more than happy to provide you with world class wellness services.

The Executive Lounge

For those lucky enough to stay in an Executive Room or Suite will have full access to Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik Hotel’s Executive Lounge. That means a sunny terrace with outstanding views of the Old Town, a complimentary continental breakfast, tasty snacks during the whole day and cocktail sipping in the sunset light.

Add to that some fresh fruits and finger food, plates of tapas, liquors, wines and beers. Who needs dinner when you get all these for free in their Executive Lounge, which transforms into a self pour bar in the evening?

Eating & Drinking

Excellent seasonal Mediterranean cuisine is the name of the game when it comes to eating in Dubrovnik. The hotel’s Porat Restaurant offers just that, accompanied by their special selection of Croatian and international wines.

The ingredients are taken only from the best local products and with an added contemporary touch, dinner and lunch in Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik are a must try. Don’t miss their seafood platter for two served with a glass of local white wine, the Malvasija.

For more sophisticated drinks, their open-air Lounge Bar is the go to place. Comfy sofas, stylish setting, live soul and funk or piano music and special nights will make your days end with style.

The elegant Lobby Bar offers great options as well, with drinks, coffee and light snacks, perfect for your morning or afternoon coffee meeting.

Final Thoughts

Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik exterior

Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik hotel couldn’t have been placed in a better location. Withing walking distance of the Old City and the Adriatic Sea, the hotel’s location is simply fantastic.

Beyond the gorgeous views, the service was faultless and the staff made our stay there very special. Everyone was smiling, friendly and helpful at all times. While the price seems high at first, the feeling at the end of our stay was that it’s worth every penny. The hotel is charming and cleanliness is at its greatest. The little treats and attention to detail made us feel at home there.

We would definitely choose it again if we were to come back to the beautiful Dubrovnik. This was by far our best Hilton experience.
