It’s finally here – the latest creation of Ariel Motor Company, the Ariel Atom 3.5, was recently unveiled. An updated version of the previous Ariel Atom 3, the 3.5 sports a redesigned bonnet, twin projector headlamps, LED turn, stop and taillights, a suspension upgrade and brand new digital LCD dashboard display with gear-shift lights.

The Mugen 8 and the Atom V8 served as sources of knowledge for the engineers behind the Ariel Atom 3.5. Therefore, a lot of improvements were done to this version – a more compliant on-road ride, improved traction and balance on track, new shock absorbers and engine mounts, plus better stiffness and torsional rigidity.

As we had expected, the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter VTEC engine was pretty much left unchanged. Only the supercharged version of the Atom gets a few more HP. The stock output of the engine is 240 HP, while the supercharged model can deliver up to 315 HP thanks to some upgrades done to the mapping, fuel system and intake.

As for the interior, we’ve already mentioned the brand new digital display with gear-shift lights. In addition, the list of optionals includes a data logger which records lap times, G-forces and many more track day info, which may prove useful to racing enthusiasts.

Although the price tag of the Ariel Atom 3.5 has been kept secret, the car is available for purchase worldwide.
