Prestigious champagne brand Dom Pérignon has announced a new collaboration with famous Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen. The partnership has yielded the limited edition Dom Pérignon Metamorphosis by Iris van Herpen.

With this release, the champagne house signals the end of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 in its First Plénitude and marks its transformation into P2 – the Second Plénitude of Dom Pérignon. Here’s where the bold and innovative style of Iris van Herpen comes in.

The Limited Edition gift box, an elegant mix of black and green, represents the deep, organic energy at the heart of the wine as it transforms. Then there’s the even more remarkable green dark glass “cocoon” for the bottle – because you can’t have a metamorphosis without a cocoon, of course. The piece symbolizes a protective shield put in place as the wine prepares for the next stage of its transformation, and “highlights this duality of time to underscore the singularity of Dom Pérignon wines,” according to the press release.

The limited edition Dom Pérignon Metamorphosis by Iris van Herpen was showcased during this month’s New York Fashion Week.
