Lightning Catamaran Concept By Andrew Trujillo

Apart from looking extremely beautiful, catamarans are usually known for being quick sailboats, mostly because they have a very shallow draught. This means a lower drag coefficient, thus resulting in faster speeds, a fact that was well known by English Columbian transportation designer Andrew Trujillo, when he started work on his striking 40 foot ‘Lightning’ concept.

Featuring a minimalistic layout, including clean lines and contrasting wood with white fiberglass accents, the sleek Lightning concept will not be riding the waves any time soon but the renderings below try to light towards a finished product that might see the daylight pretty soon.

The concept’s two hull layout reduces drag in the water, while its minimalist theme, both outside and inside the cockpit, goes incredibly well with the striking design. We can only hope Mr. Trujillo will make this beauty become a reality as quickly as possible.
