The Whisky Trail

European Waterways is the company responsible for the Whisky Trail, a special kind of river cruise that takes you along Caledonian Canal aboard the Scottish Highlander. This is a six-night trip, meant to allow passenger to enjoy three historic distilleries in Scotland and take a look at the stunning places where their favorite drinks are created.

Only 8 passengers will be allowed on board, traveling between Fort William and Inverness and passing by famous castles, historic sites and beautiful landscapes. How does crossing Loch Ness sound?

The Scottish Highlander will stop at the Benromach Distillery near Forres, the Glen Ord distillery and the Dalwhinnie distillery for private tasting and special activities.  The latter location will allow guests to enjoy a private tour and pairings with chocolates.

And while on board the vessel, passengers will also get the chance to taste a variety of special whiskies and Scottish fare, just to make sure their pallets are overwhelmed. Charter experiences start off at $31,500 for eight guests, but individual bookings are also on offer between June 5th and October 2nd, 2016, with rates starting at $4,090 per person.
