Would James Bond Ever Go For The Aston Martin RapidE Concept?

Aston Martin RapidE

That’s a tough question, and one that needs an answer fast – as the launch of the new Spectre movie is right around the corner. Nonetheless, Aston Martin and Williams Advanced Engineering have collaborated on transforming the Rapide S sports sedan into an electric vehicle, and this is the result: the Aston Martin RapidE Concept.

This is a fully electric vehicle, revealed outside Lancaster House in London – the same place where visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping met The Royal Highness Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge just a while ago.

I’m not sure if any of them got behind the wheel, but we do know that the RapidE concept has been imagined following increased interest from Chinese investors.

If the concept proves to be successful, the new luxury sports car would be built at Aston Martin’s global HQ in Gaydon, Warwickshire. It should hit the market in about two years time, but we aren’t able to discuss any technical specs or feature at this time – as none have been revealed.

The exciting Aston Martin RapidE concept proves, however, the ability of the company to tackle the likes of Tesla on a growing market segment. What would the end result be? not sure about that one, as Aston Martin would have to really stand out from the crowd to make people forget all about Tesla and purchase the RapidE. Time will tell.

As for James Bond, I doubt he’d go for the environmentally-friendly and silent RapidE instead of a seriously fast and exciting supercar.
