Volkswagen designed the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo for the acclaimed Sony videogame Gran Turismo 6 and now, in an interesting twist, the German automaker actually built the vehicle initially featured in the virtual world.

The GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo (yes, that wasn’t a typo, there’s an actual comma in the name, for whatever reason) was unveiled at the 2014 Wörthersee Tour, an event held in Austria which is popular with GTI fans. The two-seat convertible gets its power from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 503 horsepower and an impressive 413 lbs-ft of torque, most of which is developed at 2,000 rpm and is available all the way up to 6,000 revs. According to VW, the vehicle goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 192 mph.

In addition to be being very powerful, the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo is also quite light. The designers used a shorter platform than the one in the usual GTI, one which features lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber, bringing the car’s weight all the way down to 3,133 pounds (a little over 1,400 kilograms, for those of you who prefer the metric system).

As for the interior, the driver and the passenger sit in individual carbon fiber tubs, while the seats and the four-spoke grip steering wheel are covered with Alcantara. There’s also a cockpit display mounted directly into the steering column, far ahead of the driver.

Unfortunately, the GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo being showcased at Wörthersee will not go into production. You can still drive one, along with several other amazing concepts, in Sony’s Gran Turismo 6.
