The luxury watchmakers from Van Cleef & Arpels have unveiled their new 2011 collection of watch dials called “Cadrans Extraordinaires“, a name that basically means that these dials are extraordinary. The new collection focuses on animals and wild life from Africa and the Arctic area.

These dials are really incredible works of art and each represents hand engraved 18k white gold figurines and scenery skillfully done using precious materials and complex processes. The watches are 38mm wide in 18K gold gases with diamond decoration throughout which makes them look even more spectacular.

One important theme of all these new watches is the concept of mother and child, each of these dials featuring a mother animal with her young baby. The idea behind this concept is to have people acquire one of these luxurious watches and think of their children when wearing them.

Each of these Van Cleef & Arpels Cadrans Extraordinaires Animal Watches is limited to just 22 pieces and contain manually wound Swiss mechanical movements.
