Many designs, stories and famous figures were chosen as basics for the works of this acclaimed watchmaker. Ulysse Nardin, producer of timepieces inspired by Caesar, dragons or even Santa Maria, has now come up with one that evokes Captain Thomas Boyle of the Chasseur.

The so-called Pride of Baltimore Classico Cloisonné is a stunning addition to Ulysse Nardin’s Classico collection and quite a pricy one as well. It particularly celebrates the victory of Captain Thomas Boyle in capturing the HMS St. Lawrence. Combining state of the art enameling techniques and the ultimate in mechanical timepieces manufacture, the limited edition Pride of Baltimore Classico Cloisonné reminds of the Pride of Baltimore itself, the gorgeous clipper commanded by Captain Thomas Boyle.

Only 30 units will ever be made, sadly. The 40-milimeter case is crafted from white or rose gold, encompassing a self-winding movement with the COSC Chronometer-certified caliber UN 815. It also sports a 42 hour power reserve and resists to depths of up to 50 meters.
