Perdu Underground Home

The world’s population is increasing every day, while the overall accessible land surface is diminished every time a new mall or skyscraper makes its way around us. If you think about it, underground houses might be a great solution for the future, and that’s what England-based NC Homes and Huntsmere imagined with this amazing project.

But who said underground homes shouldn’t be luxurious and stylish? Dubbed Perdu, this project is actually a three bedroom house located on the grounds of 19th century Limehurst, in Bowdon.

The architectural team in charge of this innovative house was very careful in the development process, always considering the environmental impact of the house, which is why the circular house features rainwater harvesting, a heat exchange system and solar tubes for heating water.

The most obvious concern regarding an underground house is natural light, but Perdu comes with a dome shaped passage in the center, which floods the house with natural light allowing it to flow freely inside. Proposed to be hidden underneath the landscaped lush-green English garden, this chic underground house has already received several architectural awards.

Apart from the three spacious bedrooms, the eco-friendly underground home will also include a kitchen, living area, a nice jacuzzi and gym, and adults and kids alike will surely appreciate the slide leading straight to the indoor swimming pool.

All in all, Perdu is unique, stylish and self-heating, but all that exclusivity and comfort is going to set you back around $3.7 million. What do you think about it?
