Mercedes-Benz X-Class

In case you’re not in touch with the latest news from the automotive world, Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled its new premium pickup truck, and.. it’s an absolute stunner! The Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Truck comes in two different versions, set to arrive in Europe and South Africa by the end of 2017. Customers will be able to choose between a model focused specifically on off-road use or the version meant for city-based cruises.

Both trucks are equally impressive, featuring a rugged all-wheel drive system and high-torque V6 engines, with the off-road model – called Powerful Adventurer – also benefiting from increased ground clearance. The urban version, dubbed Stylish Explorer, is more of an urban SUV in a wonderful pickup truck shell, with flared wheel arches and 22″ alloy wheels; just take a look.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the pickup driver of 30 years ago has long gone, and nowadays people are looking to work and play, both in urban and rural environments. All the usual technological equipment from the German automaker, such as a central touchscreen display and modern driver assistance, will come as standard, with plenty of interesting goodies on the side.

You might think this is the company’s first attempt at a pickup truck, but back in the 1970s, Mercedes’ Argentinian arm experimented with this idea, with a 220D called “La Pick-up”. This time however, Mercedes hopes that the new X-Class gets the attention it deserves, and we’re sure this incredible pickup will be more than just a simple experiment.

We still don’t know anything about specs or possible purchase costs, but we’re eagerly waiting for more info from Mercedes-Benz.
