Lazareth E-Wazuma Quad

Wazuma could be easily translated as “extreme” and it would certainly fit the bill in this case. You’ve probably heard of Ludovic Lazareth by now, and some of his jaw dropping projects, like the 470 hp Maserati-powered LM 847 quad or the incredible Wazuma V8 and V8F, but what you’re about to see right now is something completely different.

Someone felt the need for more madness, which is why we’re now focusing our attention on the Lazareth E-Wazuma. Yes, “E” comes from electric, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad thing. The Maserati Wazuma was capable of impressing with 670 Nm (457 lb-ft), and the E- Wazuma promises to be just as thrilling.

Although showing off ‘just’ 490 Nm (361 lb-ft) of torque, the Nm count of electric is available right off idle. Not bad, right?

Considering that E-Wazuma’s drivetrain shows virtually no lag, you could easily consider this quad a rocket on wheels. At the back of this beauty, the engineers from Lazareth fitted two 30 kW motors, driving the rear wheels – for a total of 80 electric ponies.

The Lazareth E-Wazuma is still merely a prototype but you should expect to see this eco-friendly hair-rising machine on the streets near you pretty soon. There’s no word on how much an E-Wazuma would cost or when we’ll be able to enjoy one on our way to work.

But it’s worth noting that riding an E-Wazuma doesn’t look like something for inexperienced motorcyclists, or for the fainthearted. Otherwise, this should prove to be one beast worth taming. We’re just wondering how it sounds…
