Urwerk stopped production of their landmark timepiece, the UR-103, at the end of 2010, but they’re back with a unique UR-103 called Phoenix designed for Only Watch 2011. The special UR-103 amazed and shocked watch lovers and collectors when it was released back in 2003 with a unique package.

Other watchmakers featured similar ways to display the minutes and hours but the combination with Urwerk’s technical innovations and the modern case was totally new at that time and made a lasting impression on the history of watchmaking. The UR-103 Phoenix was engraved by the master engraver Jean-Vincent Huguenin, who already created the UR-103 Edition Speciale Art Deco in 2006.

So.. if you’re in Monaco on September 23rd at Only Watches 2011 you can take a look at this beauty, because for one time only the UR-103 will rise from the ashes as the UR-103 Phoenix.
