Since it was born, the Zonda has known a lot of embodiments, some racier than others, but they’ve all shared one characteristic – absolute insanity. Time has come, though, for Horacio Pagani to announce the end of this legend – the fantastic Pagani Zonda Revolucion.

Let’s start with a bang – this special edition Zonda can be yours for €2.2 million, plus taxes. It was first unveiled a couple of weeks ago and sports a carbon-titanium monocoque which ensures a weight of as little as 1,070 kg (2,359 lbs). If you consider the fact that this fabulous hypercar is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that develops a stratospheric 800 HP (596 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque, you quickly realise the performance involved – a 748 Hp/ton power to weight ratio is absolutely dazzling.

Apart from the rocket engine it also comes with a 6-speed transversal and sequential gearbox, made of magnesium, which is able to shift in just 20 ms. It also sports a Bosch-developed traction control system with 12 settings. The ABS system was also updated, while the car’s aerodynamics has been improved by new deflectors on the hood and a vertical stabilizer on the rear hood. The rear wing has been bestowed with an F1-inspired Drag Reduction System or DRS with two different operating modes.

Hidden by the wheels is a set of Brembo brakes with F1-derived CCMR discs weighing 15 percent less than the previous ones. They also improve Zonda’s stiffness while operating at lower temperatures. According to Pagani, these particular discs are able to last up to four times longer than their predecessors while, at the same time, providing better stopping to the car.
