A series of luxury yachts and sailing vessels have been launched and presented during the 2011. Among them, the Italian shipyard Palumbo unveiled the Columbus 177 Prima Yacht. Based on the principle of vast space that incorporates modern styling and efficient usage of space, the vessel is bright in all its detail, from bow to stern.

Plus, being an Italian-style ship, it has to be uniquely refined. The ship was designed by Sergio Cutolo, while its interior bears the signature of Tommaso Spadolini, from Spadolini Studio Design. The yacht has received a bundle of awards due to its eco-friendly appearance and elegance, both at the same time.

Good examples are the ABS Classification and the RINA Green Star Plus Platinum which was particularly awarded by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, assisted by His Majesty the King of Spain.

To give you a hint about the size of the yacht, the sundeck alone measures 20 meters, without tender storage facilities, these being incorporated inside the vessel, below the main deck, for facile reach. The total length of the ship is around 54 meters, proving the fact that it’s packed with extra-large spaces and offers a superb feeling of freedom and comfort.

The total space of the owner and guest areas covers around 350 sq meters and the vessel contains lounge spots in a variety of shapes and sizes, from formal to informal, from classic to modern, on either the main deck or upper aft, which are of approximately equal dimensions. The ambiance is perfect for dining, lets you enjoy every minute you spent on the yacht, in its elegant setting.

The ship comprises a VIP cabin on the upper deck, two double and two twin-cabins on the lower deck and the owner’s quarter on the fore main deck, all of these permitting comfortable accommodation for twelve guests. All the rooms, cabins, lounge areas and more have a few things in common. First of all is light, it penetrates all spots on the yacht, creating a memorable ambiance.

Then it’s the beautifully chosen palette of colors used to paint the vessel. An awesome combination of dark wood and light colors enchants the eye, engulfed in a comforting feel of luxurious minimalism. All rooms comply with these characteristics, be them the en-suite bathrooms, the vast saloons, the private cabins or the open-air locations. The exquisite Italian influence is noticeable everywhere.

The Prima is for sale, by Fraser Yachts, for €24,500,000. This vessel is particularly special due to the fact that it’s the first superyacht ever produced by the Palumbo shipyard. The company will probably go on building other yachts as well, due to the fact that this one was a beautiful implementation of superb Italian style and taste.
