It seems like the Italians aren’t fed up with supercars and high performance automotive industry. A brand new supercar has emerged from Italy recently – the ATS 2500 GT.

The ATS 2500 GT features a rear wheel drive system and a mid-engine architecture. It weighs a whopping 980 kg and boasts with a power to weight ratio of 510 HP per ton. These small figures are also due to its relatively reduced sizes – the ATS 2500 GT measures 1.15 meters in height, 1.90 meters in width and 4.25 meters in length.

The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that hides under its bonnet delivers 500 HP – a heck load of muscle from such a miniature booster. It is tied to a 6-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential.

Thanks to its extremely low weight and huge output, the vehicle reaches a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph) and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds. These figures would have been fantasies is the car hadn’t been built on a tubular chassis frame with integrated roll cage and carbon fiber body panels.

The suspension is independent on each of the wheels, and, in terms of braking, the car sports 355 mm brake discs at the rear and 380 mm discs at the front. The history of the ATS 2500 GT dates back to the 1960s, based on the ATS GT. The model will only be built in 12 units. The prices are still unknown.
