If you love the Ariel Atom, but you can’t really afford one – particularly the heart-stopping, limited-run V8 model, you might want to consider getting your hands on the next best thing. The Ariel Motor Company has just launched its first officially authorized scale model of their popular vehicle, meant to adorn your desk or bookshelf.
So this time we’re actually going to talk about a scaled 1:18 version of the Atom V8, not exactly the real deal, but this model car is so stunningly detailed that you won’t believe your eyes.
What’s really interesting is that Ariel has been approached by several model car manufacturers for this interesting project, but had trouble deciding on a favorite, picking in the end a company from Spain, called Soul models, that’s going to be in charge of replicating the details of the track-oriented vehicle from now on.
Please note that the Ariel Atom V8 model car will be produced in a limited run of just 1,500 pieces, each of them accompanied by a $200 price-tag. It may sound like much, but I guess if you can’t enjoy the thrills offered by the $200k Ariel Atom V8, you should at least have a taste of what that car represents.
