McLaren has made some details regarding the new 675 Long Tail public just days before its showcasing at the Geneva Motor Show.

Basically a lighter, yet more powerful 650S, the new model boasts lots of carbon fiber elements, including the body panels, front splitter, engine, chassis, and body structure parts. All of these, together with the titanium exhaust pipes add up to 1,230 kg (2,712 lbs), making the 675LT the lightest and fastest model in the McLaren Super Series. In order to bring the weight down as to as low as possible even the air conditioning system was removed, however clients who rather not forgo that extra bit of comfort can still have it as an option free of charge.

According to the manufacturer, the twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8 has been substantially modified, resulting in significant improvements in the performance figures, while also making it much lighter than previous versions. Outputting 666 bhp (675 PS) and 515 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque, the engine now boasts the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, ensuring the 675LT goes from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blisteringly quick 2.9 seconds, and from a standstill to 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 7.9 seconds. The top speed for the new model is 205 mph (330 km/h).

The 675LT will be available in five colors: Silica White, Delta Red, Napier Green, Chicane Grey, and the classic McLaren Orange.
