2016 Bentley Continental GT Speed

The 2016 Bentley Continental GT Speed is bragging about an extra 7 horsepower (5 kilowatts) and 15 pound-feet (20 Nm) of torque that may sound a bit ridiculous for speed lovers. But considering the bi-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine is now delivering a grand total of 642 hp and 620 lb-ft (840 Nm), I realize this is no laughing matter.

Bentley’s engineers worked hard on optimizing the boost control on this beauty, thus allowing drivers to enjoy the additional torque through the entire rev range. As of now, the new Continental GT Speed will do 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds before maxing out at 206 mph (331 km/h) – not much of a difference compared to the previous version, in case you were wondering.

However, Bentley did not settle for that and went on to design a Black Edition of the Continental GT Speed – both in coupe and convertible guise. This special model will be available in a wide variety of colors, featuring high gloss black accents for the lamp bezels and window openings.

Customers may also opt out for black or red brake calipers to shine through the black five-spoke, 21-inch alloys and the Black Edition also benefits from a contrasting front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts. These components could be available in St James’ Red, Beluga, Hallmark, and a new hue called Cyber Yellow.

On the inside, Bentley added carbon fiber accents on the fascia, center, and roof consoles, as well as an exquisite leather trim. Set to be delivered this summer, the regular Continental GT Speed and the GT Speed Black Edition are already available for order.
