Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain

Luxury is the word of the day for Six Senses, as they’ve announced the opening of the enchanting Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, near Chengdu in China. Superbly set in this stunning and picturesque location, the new luxury resort complements the UNESCO World Heritage & Natural Cultural site at nearby Dujiangyan.

This wonderful region is also known as the home of Giant Pandas and it’s actually the place where the legendary Silk Road has began. Accommodations here include 113 rooms, ranging from semi-detached suites in duplex villas with balconies and verandas, to spacious courtyard suites, and garden and pool villas.

Interiors are inspired by Chinese antiques and feature locally made furniture beautifully mixed with modern amenities – there’s even an app that can control the air-conditioning and lighting in your room. If all of this bores you, you should take a closer look at that charming bridge and lovely waterfalls.

Next stop should be at the Six Senses Spa. With waterfall and garden views from each of its 10 treatment rooms, the luxury spa will pamper you with a selection of locally-inspired specialty treatments, as well as an extensive menu of signature therapies.

The main dining and entertainment areas are a focus point of this resort, as dining at Six Senses includes the highest quality regional produce from local farms and vendors.

I may have forgotten to mention that the luxury Chengdu hotel boasts two heated swimming pools, as well as a third pool for youngsters. So is the case with the gym, the outdoor fitness trail that is unique to Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain plus two outdoor tennis courts. But feel free to experience them yourselves!
