The most recent project that’s going to be developed in Dubai is just as breathtaking as any other marvelous structure from this city. The Water Discus hotel it’s going to be the world’s largest underwater hotel that will allow its guests to sleep, relax and have fun fully underwater.

The project is reportedly going to be developed by a Polish company called Deep Ocean Technology, whose task to build such a hotel will definitely be a tough challenge. Collaborating with BIG InvestConsult AG, a firm from Switzerland, the disc-shaped hotel will be constructed by a local shipyard named Drydocks World.

The portion to be sunk covers around 1,000 square meters (11,000 square ft) of living spaces, will be located at around 10 meters under the surface (33 ft) and is planned to host the 21 two-guest rooms. Some added sections will also include a large garden, open terraces above the surface, a helipad on one of the discs for those that wish to arrive in style, spa and a diving center with air locks and decompression chamber.

There are a “few” protection features to be added, in case anything bad happens or Mother Nature turns against the project. Among these, there is the possibility of moving the entire structure. Furthermore, the construction will also include buoyant surface discs with detachability option, from the main structure, turning them into lifeboats.

The connection between the structures above the surface and those below is made via a huge central shaft and contains stairs and an elevator. The overhead structure is also going to be supported by three adjustable columns.
