Skarvegløtt

The small resort town of Geilo is one of the Norway’s most prestigious destinations, for those of you looking for peace, privacy and a privileged lifestyle. This charming little town can be found 245 km North-West of Oslo, and it offers alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, golfing, fishing, horseback riding, plus many bars and restaurants, and some of Norway’s most famous health and spa services.

So there are plenty of things to do here, that’s for sure, and in the middle of it all you can find this incredible chalet, called Skarvegløtt, which has been recently listed for sale at just a little over $5 million. Offering some of the most amazing views of Norway’s largest plateau, this beautiful home is even more impressive when you get inside, surprising you with all sorts of luxurious amenities that will make you forget you’re so far away from your initial home.

Skarvegløtt

The stunning mansion before you covers 700 square meters of luxurious living spaces, spreading over four floors, with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, and even 5 fireplaces on three different stories. Norway’s architectural heritage has been reflecting in this house, with exquisite elements such as the charming woodwork, and hand-made stone-work in traditional style.

Completed back in 2003, Skarvegløtt took over 2 years to build by using old craftsmanship which simply can not be found right now and no expenses spared. The floors are oak wood imported from America, windows of Merbau, appliances are Gaggenau and Siemens, the under floor heating is environmental correct, while the roof was made of earth and grass.

The house has thermal heating, and apparently all the air inside can be changed every 3 minutes, while machinery feeds the heated pool, underfloor heating, air conditioning, humidity and temperature controlling for the wine cellar. The list of amenities could probably go on forever, but we’ll let these photos to do the rest of the talking for us.
