Radinn to Release Electric-Powered Wakeboard

Radinn is a Swedish company founded a few years ago by Philip Werner, who created an electric-powered wakeboard powered by wireless remote control for himself as a side project while studying at Lund University. This personal project has since grown into a business, as Radinn is almost ready to release its first product.

Made using hi-tech materials (like sturdy, yet lightweight carbon fiber), the piece utilizes efficient jet-propulsion and lithium batteries to speedily make its way across the water’s surface. The board provides a smooth, quiet ride, is small and light enough to fit in a car or a boat and can even be carried around by a single person. In addition to this, it’s also compatible with whatever bindings you already have for your normal wakeboard.

While the Radinn electric wakeboard isn’t ready to hit the market just yet, those interested can contact the company for pre-orders. According to Alexander Lund, the price will be somewhere around €15,000 (almost $20,000), but the product is still being tweaked so that figure is not set in stone. Shipments are expected to begin by summer next year.
