Designer Anita Mai Tan has created an intriguing new Eclectic Decanter Collection for Algems.

The series comprises two exquisite decanters created around a fantasy theme, using valuable materials such as diamonds and other precious stones. The project was created for a good cause – in more ways than one. First of all, it is a partnership with PE Fuels International, which is an organization associated with the creation of fuel enhancers that reduce GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions. Then, both pieces will be auctioned off next year, and the money raised will be used fund a non-profit organization which will work to further reduce GHG emission.

Now let’s take a closer look at the actual items. The Dragon Decanter features the figure of a dragon “embracing” the neck of the decanter. It is made from 2000 grams of 18-carat gold encrusted with 3800 diamonds and gemstones, totaling 72 carats. The Horse Decanter, on the other hand, has a horse’s head leaning against the decanter stopper. It is fashioned from 398 grams of 18-carat white gold, with the head encrusted with 720 flawless diamonds and 398 fancy-cut sapphires, and a pure blue 38-carat cabochon sapphire for its eye.

Bidding for the Horse Decanter will reportedly start at $680,000, while the Dragon Decanter is estimated to be sold for about $890,000. Both items will be signed by Anita Mai Tan.
