Parrot is a French company mostly known for creating hi-tech gizmos and equipment, like the cool Bebop drone we’ve showcased a few months ago. In 2012, the company teamed up with acclaimed French designer Philippe Starck to create a premium wireless headphone set called Zik. The collaboration has been recently revived, with the Parrot Zik 2.0 wireless headset being the result.

The new product features enhanced audio performance and weighs 270 grams, 17% percent lighter than the previous version. Nevertheless, it still provides a thicker padded headband and more spacious ear pads. Similar to the previous model, it comes with a smart touch panel which enables listeners to control the sound and change tracks easily. Users do this by sliding their finger horizontally to play the next track or the previous one, and can then adjust the volume of the music or caller with a vertical swipe.

Also part of the package is a noise reduction adaptive system which uses 6 microphones to analyze the residual sounds that could interfere with listening. The headset has three battery power modes: airplane, eco, and normal. The first one offers up to 18 hours of life, while the others provide seven and six respectively, depending on the system software enabled at the time.

Available in one of six colors (black, blue, brown, orange, white, and yellow) the Parrot Zik 2.0 Headset by Philippe Starck will hit the market next month and will be priced at €349 (about $445).
