Officine Panerai was founded back in 1860 by Giovanni Panerai and blends together Swiss watchmaking technology, elegant Italian design and a pure passion to conquer the seas. In a pretty relevant way, the exquisiteness and precision of their timepieces is proven by the fact that Officine Panerai has been the exclusive supplier of high-precision instruments for the Royal Italian Navy since the early 1900s. The brand has now come up with the special edition pocket watch Tourbillion GMT Ceramica / PAM00446.

This magnificent piece will be production-limited to 50 units and will boast with water resistance at depths of as much as 30 meters. It mixes ideas from the Florentine history of Panerai, high-end horlogerie manufacturing techniques and contemporary parts. Consisting of a 59 mm Radiomir case in ceramic materials, crafted from zirconium oxide, the Pocket Watch Tourbillion GMT Ceramica houses the P.2005/S movement with tourbillion regulator further enhanced by a pretty intricate skeleton structure which displays the exquisite movement that was fully designed and developed in-house.

Backed up by a power reserve of up to 6 days, the movement inside this extraordinary pocket watch sports a feature which involves the tourbillion cage making two rotations a minute in order to compensate for gravity-based running errors. In addition, the chain tied to this watch resembles those in the nautical industry, being attached to the case through a skeleton device shaped just like the characteristic bridge which protects and winding crown of the Panerai Luminor.

The chain itself is also crafted from black ceramic material. One can even convert the Pocket Watch Tourbillion GMT Ceramica into a table clock once they remove the chain.
