The Italian tuning house Romeo Ferraris wanted to celebrate Italy’s 150th anniversary as a nation and created a special edition of the… MINI Countryman for this landmark, even though we all know that MINI is a British car.

The special edition was dubbed as “150 Anniversario” or 150th Anniversary and it’s based on the Countryman Cooper S powered by a 1.6L turbocharged engine that’s able to produce 184 hp and 240 Nm of torque. Engineers from Romeo Ferraris tweaked the car’s engine with a new intercooler, a sports air filter, a sport exhaust and an ECU upgrade to raise its power to 227 hp and 328 Nm of torque.

The MINI Countryman 150 Anniversario also received a height adjustable suspension, a new high performance braking system from Brembo and 19″ alloy wheels wrapped in new Yokohama Advan Sport tires sized 225/40/R19.  The car’s exterior also received a matte blue foil wrap and a silver hue for the twin stripes on the hood and rear hatch and on the roof as well. New tail pipes from and a blacked out grille complete the car’s refreshed look.

Inside, the guys from Romeo Ferraris covered the seats and door panels with leather and blue lining and also decorated the seats with the Italian flag.
