Maîtres du Temps is a Swiss luxury watch brand established in 2005, which released its first creation, the appropriately named Chapter One, in 2008. The latest version of that timepiece is called the Chapter One Tonneau Transparence Titanium: C1-3T – and it’s an amazing watch worth a closer look.

The Chapter One is unparalleled in terms of complexity: its various complication add, comprising an amazing 558 components. These features, never before seen all in one place, include tourbillon movement incorporating a mono-pusher column wheel chronograph, retrograde date, retrograde GMT, and a patented, very precise phase of the moon indication on roller, in addition to a day of the week indication.

The dial is pretty complex as well, without being illegible. The central hands indicate the hours and minutes, with a 60-minute counter at 12 o’clock, a retrograde date at 3 o’clock, and a one-minute tourbillon at 6 o’clock. The case is titanium, with the crown, back case correctors and screws in 18K white gold. Finally, the piece comes with a hand-sewn alligator strap with 18K white gold deployant buckle.

The Maîtres du Temps Chapter One Tonneau Transparence Titanium: C1-3T is a limited edition series comprised of just 11 timepieces.
