Leica Announces Limited Edition ‘Paper Skin Fedrigoni’ X2 Camera

Acclaimed camera manufacturers Leica have recently announced a collaboration with Italian paper manufacturer Fedrigoni with the aim of producing a limited edition luxury camera collection. The result is the Leica X2 “Paper Skin Fedrigoni”.

This exquisite piece features Fedrigoni’s specially treated “Constellation Jade” paper instead of Leica’s traditional leather band, which the company insists is better than even the best leathers. It’s certainly quite strong, having been tested to withstand temperature changes from -40 to 158°F, in addition to weathering the effects of acetone and abrasion. In order to add an extra touch of elegance and style, the camera is placed in book-style packaging.

There is no word as of yet on the price of one of these cameras, or when they will become available. Only 25 of them will ever be produced, and if the speed with which Leica’s Ralph Gibson limited edition has sold out is anything to go by, they won’t be available long after launch.
