Lamborghini unveils the new Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder

A supercar with a spyder body style and rear wheel drive sports car characteristics has already worked out really well for Lamborghini and probably that’s why the Italian supercar maker wanted to take this even further and created a superb sypder with great handling, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2 Spyder.

Lamborghini decided to improve on a formula that has already proved very successful for them, by combining a spyder body style with the unique characteristics of a rear wheel drive sports car.

Its power comes from a 5.2-litre V10, line-shaped, and it develops 550HP (405kW), plus it will propel the car from 0-100kph in 4.2 seconds.

That’s expected when talking about a car that weighs a fatty 1,520kg. The top speed of the gentle monster is around 319kph. The transmission will be available in both automatic and manual mode, and will consist of a 6-speed system. Given the fact that the car boasts a folding roof top and is being driven by the rear-wheels, Lamborghini had to modify its chassis and suspension, and also gave it a better aerodynamics index.
