Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater Limited Edition Watch
The research and development processes have taken several years, but the outcome is a genuine piece of artwork. The limited edition Bird Repeater will be available in two versions, red gold and grey gold set with diamonds. The specialists behind Jaquet Droz have drawn inspiration from the 18th century, when bird automatons used to be en vogue.
The timepiece boasts with one of the most intricate complications in the entire haute horlogerie – a minute repeater automaton connected to an automata of birds feeding three chicks, one of which hatches. There is also the illusion of falling water thanks to a waterfall done on a rotating disc. To make these series even more valuable, the nest and bird were manually engraved and painted.
Technically, the watch boasts a 48 hour power reserve, a black alligator leather strap and the inhouse Jaquet Droz hand wound mechanical Caliber RMA88 movement, comprising a total of 508 parts, 69 of which are jewels. It will be available as a limited edition, of just 16 units, 8 in grey gold and 8 in red gold. The version in grey gold, with diamonds, will bear a price tag of $493,500, while the rose gold one will cost $472,500.
