Bell & Ross has decided to impress everyone in the racing world with the introduction of the special BR-X1 RS16 edition, meant to celebrate the brand’s interesting partnership with Renault F1.

Unveiled over the weekend at the 2016 Chinese Grand Prix, this special edition actually includes two beautiful limited-run watches, the BR-X1 RS16 and RS16 Tourbillon BR-X1, the RS 16 coming from the name of Renault’s race car for this Formula 1 season.

These eye catching watches will be sold only in a couple of F1 races this season, to racing fans from all over the world, with Renault’s drivers, Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer, being the proud owners of the first watches from this edition, with their name and number in the written in the special Renault Life font.

Inspired by the brand’s iconic BR01 watch, the Bell & Ross BR-X1 line is all about extremes, designed to withstand hard tolerances, like the ones you could experience in Formula 1. Well armored and technical, and showing off a 45 mm multi-material cabinet, these watches benefit from materials such as titanium grade 5 and carbone forgé, the latter being a non-porous, water-resistant material, chosen for this special edition.

The marbled look of each piece is unique, thanks to the arbitrary manner in which the carbon fibers are mixed. Meanwhile, the dial is made of a gray-tinted sapphire crystal and studded with metal appliqué indexes, featuring photoluminescent inserts as well.

The BR-X1 RS16 Skeleton Chronograph is a high-tech chronograph, with a sporty, sophisticated design that’s also capable of measuring short time intervals. Its push buttons are made of high-tech ceramic with ergonomic yellow rubber inserts. The tachometer scale was placed on the dark gray ledge, while its hands were cast in yellow.

The RS16 Tourbillon BR-X1, on the other hand, is a more sophisticated version, limited to just 20 pieces. Featuring centralized hours and minutes for a traditional display, the watch benefits from 100-hour power reserve. Also worth mentioning is that the caseback of these special edition watches comes engraved with the Renault Sport F1 ™ Team logo.
