Linde Werdelin is a company that isn’t afraid to break the mould and lead the way when it comes to watch design and the usage of innovative materials, which is exactly what makes the latest addition to the Oktopus Moon series, called the octopus Moon Carbon, so special.

The timepiece is an excellent mix of modern design and state-of-the-art materials. In fact, over 2 years have been dedicated to the research that eventually went into making the watch, most notably in perfecting a process which would compress carbon fibers into the desired shape. The result is the 3DTP™ (or 3-Dimensional Thin Ply) technology and it is this technique which gives the watch its elegant, futuristic vibe.

The case is 44mm in diameter, sculpted in multi-layered carbon and with an AR-coated sapphire crystal and 18-carat rose gold crown, while the bezel is black ceramic with titanium. The watch is water resistant to an amazing 300 meters. These are the kind of depths you start to encounter sea monsters – so the caseback is appropriately adorned with a three-layered octopus engraving (hand-drawn by company co-founder and creative lead Morten Linde), as well as the limited edition serial number.

Movement is a Swiss automatic caliber with 23 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 44 hours, featuring an in-house moonphase complication. The skeletonized dial has five layers, while the interchangeable strap is made from natural rubber in dark chocolate brown with an ardillon pin buckle.

The Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moon Carbon limited edition series comprises just 59 timepieces, each priced at $19,700.
