Galpin Auto Sports impressed everyone present at Pebble Beach these days by taking the wraps off their new GTR1 prototype, a supercar based on the Ford GT that looks and performs a lot better. The GTR1 features a handrafted aluminum body designed by the Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters from California, a carbon fiber front lip spoiled, LED headlights and 20 inch alloys wrapped in high performance Pirelli P Zero Rosso tires.

The design of the car is not exactly what we would call eye catching, but its performances will surely take your breath away. Under the hood it hides a twin turbo 5.4L V8 that’s able to produce 1,024 HP and 1,000 Nm of torque. Yes, you’ve read that right, it has more than 1,000 horsepower and torques as well.

That’s enough to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around three seconds and to reach a top speed in excess of 225 mph (or 362 km/h).  Inside the cockpit, the Galpin GTR1 comes with most of the equipment present in the Ford GT, but it also features premium leather upholstery, a new instrument cluster from machined aluminum and a McIntosh audio system.

Galpin Auto Sports plans to produce this supercar in a very, very limited run, of 6 to 24 GTR1s, depending on the demand. They are currently accepting orders for this beast, with a price starting at over $1 million.
