A couple of weeks ago the first images of the new Lagonda verification prototype were released. The vehicle, created specifically for the Middle Eastern market, was being shipped to Oman in order to undergo a series of tests in the part of the world it will be released in.

The Lagonda revival, which has a carbon body and uses Rapide’s VH platform, will feature an updated V12 6.0-liter engine outputting an estimated 600 bhp (447 kW) delivered to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This will allow the powerful sedan go from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 4.2 seconds.

Since we’re talking about a verification prototype, the car is expected to spend a few more weeks of testing in Oman, during which it will cover about 14,000 miles, and will afterwards be shipped back to the UK fin order to continue the testing process. Less than 100 units are set to be produced, which will be available only on an invitational basis. No pricing details have been announced as of yet, however it’s safe to assume that the cost of Aston Martin’s new Lagonda will be quite hefty.
