We’ve found a brand new limited edition of the Admiral’s Cup Legend 42, from Corum. The piece comes with a metallic blue hue similar to the modern version adopted during the ’80s.

Corum’s Admiral’s Cup timepiece was unveiled back in 1960, while 23 years after the introduction a new collection developed upon the initial one has been presented, closer to our tastes, with a 12 sided case and 12 nautical pennants from the maritime international code of signals which serves as hour-markers. The series revealed in 1983 was the one that was grandly accepted by enthusiasts and has had a huge commercial success ever since.

The Corum Admiral’s Cup Legend 42 is offered in two color versions – a two-tone steel combo, due to be manufactured in 300 units, and a steel / red gold model, which will reportedly be manufactured in 100 pieces. These stunning timepieces feature the unique metallic blue color on their outer bracelets and the cases, which has was managed thanks to a special PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) treatment.

The same treatment has been given to the crown guard, dial and lugs, for improved contrast. In addition, the dial, along with its applied hour indices, trademark and vertical guilloché finish, almost appears to be sinking into the inner bezel ring. To tie all the pieces of this marvelous watch together, Corum have attached the central links of the 18 carat red gold or polished steel bracelet and a highly polished bezel to the superbly manufactured central piece.

The interior of the watch houses an automatic mechanical movement with oscillating weight engraved with the Corum label, superbly visible through a transparent caseback.
