We’ve recently showcased Hublot’s Classic Fusion Tourbillon Firmament, featuring one of the rarest materials ever used in a timepiece’s design – osmium crystal. The Swiss luxury brand has also released another version of this watch, namely the Vitrail.

The name of this model is French for “stained glass” – which is also its most remarkable feature. There are about 15 small spaces housing a multitude of Swiss-made stained glass pieces, secured with O-rings, which ensure the material doesn’t break due to thermal expansion.

The material is not just some pretty-looking colored glass, however. According to the watchmaker, it is the same glass used in physics labs to filter different wavelengths of light, which means the color will not fade over time. Speaking of colors, the first Classic Fusion Tourbillon Vitrail models will be available in red and blue. Moreover, the possibilities for customization are basically endless – it is conceivable that each new customer might even get their own unique watch in the future.
