Clair de Lune

Christian Louboutin wants to get us all in a romantic mood just before Valentine’s Day, with his new collection of shoes.  Thinking about moonlight, magic, and all things nice, the fashion icon has designed a Spring/Summer 2016 collection inspired by the power of the moon.

Called Clair de Lune, Louboutin’s new collection features styles for both men and women, decorated with crystals in a prism of rich, sparking colors.  Gem choices include ruby, rose and tangerine, contrasted against a cooler underbelly, which boasts cerulean and silver tones.

Classic options, such as the So Kate, Pigalle, Pigalle Follies, Dorissima and Lady Peep shoes, have all been dressed up with bright crystals for this eye catching collection.

The shoes were decorated using a unique strass method, with the crystals hand-placed in colorful clusters or all over the shoe, complemented by dark background materials such as a jet black veau velour and roccia python.

The Clair de Lune capsule collection is Louboutin’s way of reminding everyone of flirtation and romance, and nothing says ‘I Love You’ like a new and unique pair of shoes. Katie Rodgers, the illustrator behind Paper Fashion, joined in on the celebration by creating a series of hand painted watercolor illustrations, featuring the desirable shoes.

Clair de Lune is also available in a full range of sneakers, flats, pumps and platforms, so there’s a little bit of everything for you and no one gets left out.
