Casio is known for making everything from calculators, to watches, to electronic keyboards, but now the Japanese electronics company has released something a bit more out of the ordinary – a DJ controller series.

The Trackformer Series comprises two pieces of hardware designed for amateur DJs who want to try out their mixing skills. Firstly, there’s the XW-DJ1, which has filter controls, a cross fader, and a 7-inch scratchable turntable, and offers controls for tempo, cue points, effects, and looping. Set to be released this month, it is compatible with DJ apps such as djay2 and comes with a price tag of $299. Secondly, the XW-PD1 Groove Center is a bit more advanced and features a 16-button sampler with a synthesizer, sequencer, and effector. You’ll have to wait a little longer for this one, however, which will only be available in March and will set you back $399.
