Burberry Reveals The Fresh Design Of The DK88 Bag
A real tribute to the fabric at the heart of Burberry’s unique history, the new DK88 bag collection is named after the house code for the brand’s trademark honey-coloured gabardine, showing off several interesting styles, for both men and women, and a bespoke leather finish.
If you don’t know this yet, cotton gabardine was a cloth invented and patented by Thomas Burberry back in 1888, a material that’s still being used today to make Burberry’s signature trench coats. But these new bags are made from the British label’s new Trench Leather, a material that was specially designed to replicate the distinctive twill finish of the gabardine, honoring its legacy in the best of ways.
Burberry’s new DK88 bag aims to be the perfect companion for this season’s runway marvels, featuring a top handle, satchel, and luggage-inspired styles that already seem to boast a timeless elegance. The bag’s silhouette is clearly defined by the over-sized lock that instantly grabs our attention, but its clean lines and the lovely tonal stitching are also part of the overall appeal.
Regardless of choice, fashion enthusiasts will receive a smooth calf leather or alligator top handle, as well as an adjustable leather cross-body strap. Some designs even come with a functional, over-sized brass lock and an internal pocket where you could keep the accompanying key.
